Volunteer Opportunities

PPSCC now has nearly 250 members. We have grown a lot in the past few years and are suffering“growing pains,” with many officers & board members doing several tasks. Perhaps you can help us lighten the load by taking on one or more of these positions or chores.

Volunteering to help with many of our one-time events is a wonderful way to meet and work with fellow artists. If you would like to work with the group on a more full time basis, sign up to be a board member! We welcome your interest, ideas and participation.

Of course, we have many smaller jobs – some are ‘one-shot’ deals – for the events we hold:

willing to hang shows
willing to host show events
help with Master Class events
work on sub committees like “For Pastels Only” and Annual Meeting events
artists interested in doing demos during shows and Annual Meeting events

For some of these positions you need not live on the Cape as you would only have to come to a single event. You'll find a complete list on our Membership Form.

Current Volunteer Openings:

Treasurer for 2012 Term. As Treasurer you will work as the Chief Financial Officer of PPSCC as the gatekeeper of the funds in this non-profit organization. A bookkeeping assistant will administer the bill paying and record keeping and report to the Treasurer. Our current Treasurer will work with you for a current transition, so you can begin your official duties January 2012.

For Pastels Only, 2011, Opening Reception
People are needed to assist with the reception at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, Saturday, October 1 preparing food and beverages, refilling platters and handling set up and clean up. We are also looking for donations of crackers, cheese, finger type appetizers. If you can help in any way, please call Sue Carey at 508-790-5711 or email her at details99@aol.com

For Pastels Only, 2012, Committee
Even as the 2011 show ends, we will be looking for members to join us as we begin to plan for next year. For Pastels Only 2012 is scheduled for June 24 through July 22, 2012 at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. Time is short as the next exhibit is only 8 months away. We need your help If you're interesting in working on next year's national exhibit, please email Sherry Rhyno at president@pastelpainterssocietyofcapecod.com

PPSCC is an all-volunteer organization. Every member is welcomed and encouraged to participate as much as possible. The more you get involved, the more we can get accomplished, the stronger an organization and community we are, and the better all members are served.

All members are welcome to attend the monthly board meetings in Barnstable: the third Wednesday of every month, 6:00 pm, at various locations. Members are notified through Pastelink, our quarterly newsletter, and through email of special events and the Annual Meeting. Volunteer opportunities range from short, one time help to serving on committees, the board, and more.
